Here’s a bit to keep in mind when you’re trying to quit – it might even help you do it without stop smoking medications:
The first step in quitting is recognizing the need to, so if you’re here, you are already on your way!
Smoking has been associated with:
1. Lung cancer
2. Stomach cancer
3. Esophageal cancer
4. Oral Cancer
5. Throat Cancer
… to name a few
It has also been associated with Heart Disease (including mortal heart attack), Lung Diseases of all types, Nerve problems, premature aging, gum disease, tooth loss, and tooth staining. Not to mention, it smells and puts those around you in danger from the detrimental effects of secondhand smoke.
If you use cigarettes to relax, what’s the harm in trying to find an alternate mode of relaxation? I’d suggest:
Physical exercise
Chocolate
or even… Naps or quiet time
Reading for fun
Video games
Music (listening or playing)
Yoga/Meditation

Get hypnotized (which is what I did many years ago) or go cold turkey. Some people try to chew gum instead of smoke, which you can do if you make sure to chew sugar-free gum instead of regular. Good luck! I know what it's like to have that monkey on your back.

Integrity. grow up and stop smoking. just do it. choose not to smoke because it is reaaly best fotr you to do.
put the money you spend every day in a jar.that you would spend on cigarettes. At the end of a month use that save money and buy your self something nice you want. as a reward. do that every month.
easy to do. just choose to do it.
I wont say good luck. because you do not need luck.
you can do it all on your own. and you will feel great.

gum, exercise, anything that keeps you unavailable for a cigarette and/or distracts/transfers you from the oral fixation … exercise a lot … that has seemed to be REALLY helpful for a lot of my friends who have quit …

You have to figure out why and when you smoke. Then you have to find a healthy alternative. Sometimes smoking is simply a subconscious habit. We have a cigarette the minute we wake up or the minute we get in the car. We have to find something else to do instead. Chewing gum, going for a brisk walk, deep breathing, calling a friend, drinking a glass of water. Just wait for each craving to pass one at a time. As time goes on you'll go longer and longer between each craving until the day comes when you realize you no longer need a cigarette. It will take a few weeks and it won't be easy, but pick a date – let all your "smoking buddies" know and don't give up. Even if you give in to temptation – try, try again. Keep a list of why you want to quit and how important to your health this decision is. Your state might have a website devoted to helping you quit. Check with your local health department. Best of luck!!

Well first you must be able to answer the following question: Are you truly ready to quit? If you are not 150% willing to quit, then nothing will help you, regardless of what it is. However, if you are ready, just stop smoking. Yes, it will be hard at first, but if you are truly ready to quit, you will be able to, without the aid of any outside products.
Best of luck!
