Stop Smoking Cigarettes

Does the Stop Smoking lasesr Really Work?

A good email:

I have heard of a procedure called low-level laser therapy or “cold laser” therapy. While most of what I have heard suggests that this procedure is used mostly for treatment of wounds, there are several clinics that advocate the use of cold lasers to treat the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal, thus supposedly allowing a person to stop smoking, even if they have not previously been able to. Does anyone know if there is any documented medical evidence that supports this, and if so, where can I find it? Personal testimonials from people who have tried it and been successful will also be welcome.

There is such a thing as the stop smoking laser, and I have heard of some success stories.  When the pulsating light of the laser is applied to certain acupuncture points, it is absorbed by the skin and cells to stimulate the endorphins that help block out the cravings while leaving you with a feeling of well being.  It’s a fairly simple concept, but talk to your doctor about whether or not this is an appropriate treatment for you.

A smoker has a chemical addiction to cigs. What mechanism will light do to alter/change this. Save your money it will not make a difference unless you are so convinced that it will work that you make up your mind it will work and you make a choice to quit. The laser did nothing but drain your wallet, you must make a choice to rid the chemicals from your body and change the chemistry of your brain to turn off the addiction. This takes time, will power, and no smoking. It can be done many people have done it.
