MY mom is 76 and I am 52, she has smoked my whole life and now has a pace Maker, but she is still smoking those Cigarettes. Its a terrible Addiction and extremely hard to quit. I think its typically used for depression, but it made me naeseous at the smell of cigarette smoke... which made me quit. But I also wanted to quit and I wasn't a 30 year smoker. Another thought is motivating him by telling him you want him to be able to know your children... that you don't want them to only know him through old photos. And that you want him to be there for the milestones and special moments of your life. He may argue that he's been smoking for 30 years, its too late now.
