Stop Smoking Cigarettes

Free Help For Quitting Smoking Aid

My cousin is 35 years old and wants to quit smoking for many reasons (her health being one of them, obviously)  – but mostly to win back her true love, whose is a SERIOUS non-smoker.

She doesn’t want to spend any money, so is trying to do it cold-turkey, but there are free quit smoking aids out there too.  I told her to at least try to quitting hotline, a 1-800 number that’s free to use and provides lots of support.

Check with your local hospital. I know that the hospital I work for and other ones have smoking cessation programs that will pass out free information and patches as long as you go to a couple of counseling programs. You need to check with your doctor too. They have a new medicine out to help, and I have heard GREAT results from it. I'm not sure how cheap it is but it's worth a look. I know poeple who have smoked a pack for 40 years and quit completely after taking it for 2 weeks. Its worth looking into. GOOD LUCK! I hope it works out =)

Congrats!!! Wanting to quit is great . I quit a year ago. Anyway at the community hospital here they have a preventative care dept where they offer help with these things. Perhaps they have a department like that at your local hospital. Also some drug manufacturers will offer some help for various drug needs.
For some patches you should contact nicoderm company to see if they can help at all.
Maybe the cancer society can help too. It never hurts to check these places out.

Good luck and I hope this helps some.

I quit about a month ago, and for me…it was easier to just quit cold turkey. It's not as bad as you think…I smoked for 25 years, and the first 72 hours are the worst….just get past that and you are okay! YOU CAN DO IT! When you think you want a cigarette, just think…thats crazy, "I Don't smoke" The urges really do pass in seconds.

It seems to me, if you don't have the money to quit smoking, then you don't have the money to BUY something to smoke either. So you really want those things mentioned above, then do it. Give it time. You will do it.
    All the Best.

Smoking costs about the same as nicotine replacement therapy, so it's no loss. Get some Commit lozenges and follow the directions. They *will* work if you're serious about wanting to quit.
