My mom is trying to stop smoking for at least the 4th time now, and she is having a lot of trouble doing so. she doesn’t want to buy anything or use any medication, expensive or not, but she doesn’t know what to do. i just want to help her out and really think using some kind of stop smoking medication would aid her.

Anyone have any tips on convincing her to try anything?

A few friends have told me about stop smoking medications that would help me stop smoking. I’m going to ask my doctor, but I’m just checking into it now. Has anyone else taken medication to stop smoking?  I’m really hoping my insurance will cover the cost.

My friend sent me this:

I‘ve been trying to get my parents to stop smoking forever.  Neither of them like going to the Doctor or taking any kind of medication, and they get ticked every time I suggest something.  However, I finally convinced my Mom to at least pick up something over the counter.  She bought the gum last week and is convinced it’s not doing any good and refuses to buy more than what she has now.  I think it’s time to step it up, hit the Doctor’s office, and get some serious stop smoking medication.  Any suggestions on how to encourage them?  I’m getting really frustrated.
