Stop Smoking Cigarettes

Looking For a Natural Quit Smoking Product

There are a lot of ways to quit smoking, user a quit smoking product or not, and it also depends on how long you’ve been smoking. The best ways are slowly lowering your dose (takes a long time sometimes), or going cold turkey (which is faster, but harder). Either way, the last thing is making the decision to quit, so you’ll eventually have to deal with the withdrawal.

For the most part, when you deal with withdrawal, you’ll just have to tough it out, but there are some things that can help cleanse out the toxins and may help to minimize some of the effects of withdrawal…
Drinking water will help to detox, and taking some supplements that work as cleansers may help as well. Specifically, Apple Cider Vinegar, Green Tea (decaffeinated), Chlorophyll (fantastic cleanser), and even good amounts of fiber and water helps some people (although it’s not very comfortable for the lower level of detoxification you get).

All that being said, it’s likely that the symptoms should stop relatively shortly after your last pill (it’s never as long as it feels like it is). Your neurotransmitters don’t take too terribly long to scream for something they are addicted to after you stop.

Another important thing to note is that no matter how bad it gets, taking more of the drug (and yes, nicotine is a drug) will only make the withdrawal last longer and will be harder on you in the long run. Good luck, and congrats again!

Tips on How to Stop Smoking Cigarettes

Another letter:

I stopped in 1990. When the urge and craving became so bad I would take a cigarette from the pack that was opened and place it in my lips and draw the clean air through until the urge was gone. After a while, I finally threw that pack away.

Smoked for 25 years, cigarettes, cigars, pipe-chewed tobacco. Some times as many as three packs daily.

Smoked about ten cigars since and maybe 5 cigarettes to see if I wanted to go back, but the urge and craving is long gone. Even after being hooked, you should be able to kick the habit!

When to Try a Stop Smoking Pill

If you’ve tried cold turkey, if you’ve tried the patches and the gum and the suckers and the online support groups, AND you’ve really decided that you want to be a non-smoker, maybe it’s time to talk to your doctor and try a stop smoking pill.  There are actually several different ones on the market now, that each work in different ways.  Your doctor, who is familiar with your lifestyle and health already, will be able to suggest one to you.  If you have the drive already, you might just need that last little push into becoming a non-smoker!

Stop Smoking Without Stop Smoking Medications

Here’s a bit to keep in mind when you’re trying to quit - it might even help you do it without stop smoking medications:

The first step in quitting is recognizing the need to, so if you’re here, you are already on your way!

Smoking has been associated with:
1. Lung cancer
2. Stomach cancer
3. Esophageal cancer
4. Oral Cancer
5. Throat Cancer
… to name a few

It has also been associated with Heart Disease (including mortal heart attack), Lung Diseases of all types, Nerve problems, premature aging, gum disease, tooth loss, and tooth staining. Not to mention, it smells and puts those around you in danger from the detrimental effects of secondhand smoke.

If you use cigarettes to relax, what’s the harm in trying to find an alternate mode of relaxation? I’d suggest:
Physical exercise
Chocolate
or even… Naps or quiet time
Reading for fun
Video games
Music (listening or playing)
Yoga/Meditation
