If you’re ready to try any quit smoking product, including this new shot, you have to ask yourself “am I ready to get this monkey off my back”? If you are at point in your life were your sick and tired of smoking and need a little health to get over the physical withdrawal process, then yes the SMART Shot maybe helpful in quitting smoking. The SMART Shot is a tool to help you quit smoking just like Zyban or Chantix. It will not make you quit smoking if you’re not ready.
The thing is that these medicines help you get over the acute physical withdrawal (yes, irritability is a sign of that acute physical withdrawal). However, there is no medication which is in acute you from doing something stupid six weeks, six months or six years down the road.
For most people who have problems quitting smoking “cold Turkey”, this is an addiction and needs to be respected as one. Just like an alcoholic can never pick up “wondering” you must realize that you can never pick up “one cigarette”. In other words “you will always be one puff away from a pack a day”.
It’s another version of acupuncture, using the the so called energy meridians of the body. Nobody has ever been able to independently produce success results of testing using acupuncture, accupressure, emotional tapping, laser therapy etc, but some people swear by these methods.
It could be mind over matter, in other words, if someone really wants or believes in something, it will work. Deciding to actually do something, often means you are 80% on your way to success – especially if you pay a lot for it!
There’s so many quit smoking products, but I’ve never heard of a shot, unless you’re talking about accupuncture. Most medications designed to alleviate the symptoms of withdrawal are oral, or of course there’s the patch!
There are products out now that work really well as quit smoking aids. I myself used the patch to successfully quit. The key thing is you have to want to quit and then stick to it. Do not rush yourself, it takes time , to be successful. I would talk to your doctor. If you have insurance that covers your medicine, you can get the patch, or gum, or any variety of medications. Wellbutrin is used for stop smoking, or there’s also Chantix. If one thing is not cutting your cravings, try something else untill you completely quit. That first week is not easy! It’s not so much the actual nicotine cravings, it’s breaking the habits of having a smoke while doing certain things, like talking on the phone, or drinking a morning coffee.
This is what I’ve read about how the stop smoking laser works:
When the pulsating light of the laser is applied to certain acupuncture points, it is absorbed by the skin and cells to stimulate the endorphins that help block out the cravings while leaving you with a feeling of well being.
It’s supposed to be totally safe with no side-effects, so it’s a good option if you can find a good facility to try it out.
If you’re a die-hard smoker trying to quit, the best thing to do is to discuss a gam plan with your doctor. Do some research first, so you have some questions ready. There are several different nicotine-free medications on the market, as well as laser therapy and good old cold turkey!
My neighbor’s boyfriend has been smoking for three years. He’s down to two or three a day, and though we’re proud of him, my neighbor is DONE with the smell and the mess and is afraid he’s just going to start blowing through a pack a day again. She’s wanting to help him totally quit.
It’s hard to encourage someone you love to give up such an addictive habit. I told her to tell him that every puff off a cigarette is a minute off of your life. Any other words of wisdom? Leave in the comments and I’ll pass along!!

Yes They Do! Most people get very cranky when they stop smoking cigarettes. But it doesn’t last forever. Isn’t a few days worth of irritability worth creating a healthier you (or mate) and saving tons of money?
Bruce, the most effective (unfortunately) is based on medication, other than that there are numerous support groups
